Had it 3 1/2 years. 72k when i bought it, 107k 2006 BMW 330i 45,000 mi, Visitor. Oil smell inside car, was result of oil gasket leak due to two broken bolts. Mechanic indicated that this is a common problem and there is a service bulletin that adjusts the torque specs when installing new bolts. Cost was $800. There are of course some common problems with certain spec cars, such as the BMW 335i’s N54 engine and its high-pressure fuel pump failures. However, later model N55-engine cars fixed that issue. I think this is a common failure due to the different metals used on these and the resulting aluminum bolts that are required. I have done a few things, such as FSU, Cam position sensor, and rebuilt axles. The 2 sensors ran me about $50 each, and took maybe 30 mins to do. Very easy and cheap. In August 2018, BMW released a Service Information Bulletin (SIB) extending the Limited Warranty period on the footwell module to 10 years/156,000 miles. The SIB affects the following vehicles: E70 X5, E71/72 X6, E82/88 1 series, E84 X1, E89 Z4, and the E9x 3 series. They had me re-install the stock radio and was charged another $150 and was told that my "junction box electronic module" needs to be replaced They said that the problem was due to the installation of the aftermarket dvd player..
